Weekly Rundown

Long weekend ahead. Hope y'all have a lot of fun activities planned. I have  my niece to look forward to... I get to see her tomorrow and I can't wait.

  • Pride last week was a hoot. I volunteered and actually got to walk for part of the route. I had my pride on blast since I am out to the people that need to know. I haven't felt this free in quite a while. <-- Chely Wright before the parade kicked off
  • Sadly no librarian edition since I had some studying to do for an exam for a class that I enrolled in to use up some of my spare time.
  • The cooking adventures continue. I had hoped to make some pasta today but ended up having to present myself for an interview. I will get a crash course in Thai food and another in Desi cooking later in the month. I am expanding my cooking repertoire and the woman that lands me will be the secondary beneficiary since I cook for myself first and foremost.
  • I recently discovered Las Aparicio, a Mexican soap and have had to marathon the episodes. Finding sub'd full episodes was a pain so I am watching the sub'd Julia & Mariana storyline on YT. scootgirl100 is my source in case you are interested in taking a peek at it. Ep23 has a beautiful monologue by Mariana on how hard it is to be gay. If nothing else watch that.
  • If you want to earn your brownies points, sing a song in a different language and know it's meaning ... case in point, during pride the Filipino gays & allies pride float was bumping the BEP song Mare. I knew the Tagalog & English words and meanings and the cop who was next to me was duly impressed since people tend to just sing stuff that they don't know the meaning of. He spoke Tagalog. I know a few classical Bollywood songs that have gotten me into the good graces of a Desi lass or two... I do make an effort.

World cup randomness
I can't believe my beloved Brasillians and Ghanaians are out of the tourney. My hope lies in Spain and Argentina. A lot of people's brackets have essentially gone to hell in a hand basket.

Happy 4th of July!
